I took this picture at the Botanical Garden in Denver. I really liked the way the colors looked after I took the photo. I played around with the image in photoshop looking at different ways I could manipulate it. After seeing it in black and white , I thought it was just as beautiful.

My Daughter

Everyone has children they are proud of, I am no exception. This is my sixteen year old, of course she is sixteen going on thirty but whos counting. I took this photo when she was here last June. She loved being the center of attention.

CANDID COUPLE

Photographers are always asked to do photos for their friends. Some photos are of couples, this is a montage of one of my classmates and her boyfriend. After hearing her say she never takes good pictures, she was pleasantly surprised.

Black History

Having grown up in the sixties and seeing the turmoil of race relations being played out on television, and not really understanding it all. There were all these people involved in a struggle who were fighting for racial equally, for all people not just black people. I never thought much about it then, as a child those people were only figures on TV who I knew I would never meet. Forty years later, working on a project for class I decided to cover the Democratic National Convention. Little did I know, I would meet part of black history at the capital building in Denver Colorado. This woman is Kathleen Cleaver, she was the wife of one of the leaders of the Black Panther Party, Eldridge Cleaver. After taking her picture I decided to introduce myself and let her know that it was such a pleasure to have the opportunity to speak with her. I now have a better understanding of how her struggle made life better for me. How her fight, as difficult as it was, helped changed the course of history. I thanked her from the bottom of my heart. She is truly one of my "HEROS"

The Mesa

While visiting friends on the western slopes, I was told that the Mesa was such a beautiful site. Since I arrived late in the evening there was not much to see. We awoke to a very dense fog and didn't think it was going to clear up. By noon the fog and haze started to go away and we finally got a pretty good view.

PASSION

This photo was taken for an assignment about "Passion". At first I was going to show two people who were in a relationship, those pictures have been shown by everyone. I wanted to do something different, something that showed passion in another direction. While I was at the 'CINCO DE MAYO" at the park I saw this young lady dancing, The look in her eyes while she was on stage showed she enjoyed what she was doing. She had passion!!!
